I ran in to an issue and thought I would share. I had my heads reworked for my AMC 401 engine and reinstalled with ARP head bolts. The bolts are fine, but the problem I ran into was the headers hitting the bolt heads. The ARP's install with a washer that the stock bolts don't use, so the bolt heads stick up just a little more. I had to grind some relief areas to clear the bolt heads on the header flanges. I use Edlebrock shorty headers. Other brands may be ok on clearance. Just something to think about.
