Hello jeepers, im starting a build from a CJ7 i fliped 10yrs ago. Been collecting parts and found wide trac finally. Both diff bought from diff places and have had spring perches welded for axle flip! Heard many pro's and con's about it. What do u think? Should i use flip or not. Got a skyjacker 4in kit for it as well. Will handling and ride be altered that much?

All depends what you want to do with it and also how much you want to spend on it.

There's a lot to do just besides the axles. Steering linkage, drive shafts and angles. SOA will give you about 5" plus the 4" springs. So how big a tire are you wanting to run?

^^^ what he said^^^

i was running 35-14.5-15 mickeys n and possibly end up on 38.5's...wana go ahead and put 4.56's n 1pc axles in it anyway..just planning on sum med offroading and mostly around town....ive done the mud boggs n sum mountain climbs in NC before rock crawling was born....just sketchy bout the axle flip for handling....dont wana flip it again! lol...also got carnigans if need em....just gettin up a game plan....dont like doin things twice...dont think im gona put lockers in it.... may hardly never use em...

Is there anybody out there w a set of 11in brake backing plates or know where i can find em? They seem to be a job to find. Neither 4wd hardware, jeep parts houses, dealerships, or ebay and craigslist got em. Help!

IMHO a ten inch lift is a bit much for a CJ.
Four inch lift is fine. SOA is fine but I wouldnt do both.

pm sent? whats that

yes i agree...dont wana do both....plus wana keep center of gravity low and handling....
