I have a 1984 Jeep CJ7 modified with a 383 stroker and a 400 turbo trans, dana 300 transfer case, 4.11 gears.
And a 1967 fordF-250 4X4 pickup, 360 engine, 435 trans, Np203 t-case, 4.11 gears
My jeep has 4 inches of lift but needs a little more as the driveshaft touches the side of Transmission and engine.
Is there anything wrong with switching the axles to the underside of the leaf springs? I know it takes some work rewelding spring perchases and extending shocks and brake lines but I have the winter to do this project. What are your thoughts?

More lift isn't going to help you. You either need to move you engine, Transmission , and transfer to the driver side some, or clock your Transfer Case up.
I did both.

They usually off-set chevys 2-3 inches to clear the auto.

Putting the Spring Over the Axle (SOA) conversion will raise your jeep 6 inches. That would be too high and as Old Dog has said you don't even want to go that route.
You say the drive shaft "touches the side of Transmission and engine."
If it's not hitting hard it may just be worn engine mounts. Or a place like Tom Woods Drive Shafts can make a drive shaft with a smaller diameter, thicker tube that is actually stronger than your OEM driveshaft.

Ill take a look at it when I get the time, I just bought it and now i'm working all the bugs out. I think the engine is able to slide over with the mounts that came installed. Thanks Guys
