Can you stack axle shims? Or weld them together and still be safe? I have to bring my pinion down quite a bit. The P.O did a lift from the leaf springs and i think he was going to do a cv drive shaft, but did not. And I can't afford one right now, have to stick with the original. Any help on this would be great. Guess I should have done more investigating of cjs before I bought one. But I don't think I ever learned anything the easy way, lol.

You didn't say how much lift you have but to fit 33's it's probably a 4' lift.
Most 4" springs come with shims to shim the pinion up some, as the angle is to much otherweise. If you really want it flat, check to be sure there isn't a shim in there now. I doubt if the PO would reweld his pads and not buy a cv shaft to go with it.
If it doesn't vibrate I wouldn't change it. But I would think about buying a cv shaft.;)

I want to, but money is tight right now that's why I don't want to re-weld those brakets. Can I take the shims out if I don't want them any more? LIke if I wanted to do the change to a cv shaft.
