1982 CJ7: 151cu iron duke/ sr-4 trans/ dana 300/ dana 30 front amc 20 rear 3.73 gears.
ok so i'm getting ready to swap my axles tomorrow and want to make sure i'm thinking of everything.
1)disconnect brake lines
2) remove shocks
3) remove steering
4) remove axle ubolts

anything i need to look out for? tips?

Not sure what your swaping to but if it's another 30 I'd leave the brake lines connected to the calipers so all the fluid doesn't leak out. If you loose all the fluid out of the master cly. you may have to bench bleed it to get your brakes working right again.
Be sure to use new ubolts.
Oh yea you better disconect your driveshaft.:D

some dumb dumb put 70's model axles under this. i have 4 wheel drum brakes, Dana 30 front and AMC20 rear but both are narrow tracks. i'm swapping in some wide tracks from an 83 that i found with front discs.

oh darn! how come all you guys didnt catch it about the driveshafts???
 
Wow, can't believe someone did that.:confused:

i've had this jeep alittle over a year and this is actually what i've figured out... the frame and axles are from the 70's and the body, motor, Transmission , and Transfer Case are from an 82. so i have 2 different jeeps put together here. i picked up these axles awhile ago and was waiting to take my vacation time to swap them. already bought the shock relocation brackets.
