Nice. I love that website. Does anyone have a good link for a place that explains why front axles are wider than the rears? I think I understand it, but I would like to read up on it if possible. Thanks.

i never noticed it until you pointed it out :notworthy:

I've never seen a good write-up as to why, but would also like to see one.
I know it has something to do with turning radious and handleing but thats about it.

Heard it was for handling and all around stability, but I have never seen a write up on it. I will try to look for one when I ever get home to a computer. When I was looking for axles I found a Dana 30 wide trac and a Dana 44 rear out of a scout with 3.73s, which are wider than a CJ. I told the owner I would just take the Dana 30 and I told the guy that I didn't want a rear that much wider and wider than the front. He got a little annoyed with me because he wanted to sell the set, but I wasn't messing with geometry. For an off road jeep maybe, but mine is a street jeep too.

Im working on a sticky for gear ratio axle codes and I think this info would fit well with it. Give me a little while and we'll have it posted up. :)
