Explain to me why you would not just use the wheel cylinders for a 60?:wtf:

i guess i was ignorant and assumed that since they are both off of 9" drums that they would be interchangeable. obviously not. now the question is do i just get the matching backing plates or new cylinders. it seems at this point that the backing plates would be the cheaper decision.

Finding new backing plates would be most likely more difficult, as they do not make them any more. I would just get the correct cylinders. :)

I'm thinking you will have to pull the shafts to change the back up plates, Am I wrong? This is looking like way more work than it is worth.:(

i can get the backing plates from the guy that i got the cylinders from. i already have the other backing plates off. i dont think i took apart any axle stuff, just removed the bolts holding it on the spindle. does the matching backing plate (71) work like the 60. eccentric bolts with a stationary heel. does any of that make sense?

Did he give you the rest of the brake parts for the 71? I have a feeling you are going to chase this arround and arround. have fun!:D
