Got to installing a new clutch linkage and noticed that my bellcrank has a slight downward angle (higher on the body lowers towards Transmission ) is this bad? Should it be completely straight?

Yes it should be straight you can thank the body lift for this. If not fixed it will give you problems.

Thank you. I'll weld a piece onto the top to drop it the required amount.

Definitely due to the body lift. I have a 1” body lift and I have a slight angle on mine. It has been that way for about 4 years now. I am keeping an eye on it.

What body lift did you go with?

Well, when I was doing my frame swap, I had to replace the body mount wings. I welded the new ones an inch higher so that I would get an inch of body lift without adding pucks. So mine is home made in a way.

Oh okay. That's a smart way. I had trouble torquing my bolts it wanted to bend the washers, so I literally went hand tight and will come back and torque to probably 20 lbft. Have you had any problems with your bellcrank being at an angle?

What do you call 'slight'?
You want the b'crank horizontal, as it affects the internal bushing wear.
Don't forget about body flex when Jeep'n.........
