So I'm a long time fan of the Ouray area but what other great Jeeping towns are out there?

I think Silverton is the best jeep'n town. Sure there may be more famous trails near Ouray such as Imogene Pass and Blackbear Pass but Silverton has more trails. I like getting away on remote trails and the trails near Silverton are less traveled. Ouray and Silverton are very close together so I'm spliting hairs. And I have never brought my jeep to the Sierra Nevada mountains so I can't say Silverton is the best in the US just the best I have seen. These mountains are the reason I moved to Colorado.

Moab,Utah would be another good jeeping town since you can base camp at one of the private campgrounds in town and spend the rest of your life doing the many trails since there are so many to chose from.

Yeah I guess in my mind I kinda put a Ouray and Silverton together in a sort of a "San Juan" group or area. Moab is an interesting thought too.

Are there any neat places in Wyoming in the Teton or Yellowstone area? I found a trail book on Amazon for Wyoming but haven't ordered it yet.

Just would like to compile a list of great Jeeping sites where you can base yourself and spend a week on the trails.
