- 1979 Jeep CJ5 with 304 V8, T18 Transmission, Dana 20 Transfer case with TeraLow 3:1 gears, 4.88 axle gears, Detroit Locker up front and Ox Locker in back with 1 piece axle shafts, 36" SuperSwamper SX Tires, Shackle reversal, MileMarker Hydraulic winch, MSD 6A ignition.
I would just go to RockAuto.com or your local parts dealer to get an OEM replacement.
Sure there are high performance starters but they are for high compression engines.

I'm with Dave, you're local NAPA, O'Reilly or wherever you get your parts from, don't waste the money on a high dollar starter unless you have a high dollar engine.

I use Auto Zone for the life time warrenty. (mud and water gets to them after awhile)
