My day of misery continues.

My rear driver side bleeder screw was badly stripped so I pulled it out to replace. Now the screw I have to replace it, although it fits very snugly, spins in the hole when it should tighten down. I'd say with about 80% force it will just continue to spin. I didn't think it would be a big deal but even with it that tight when you apply the brakes fluid comes out.

Has this happened to anyone? Any way I can fix this? Threadlocker? I want to be able to bleed them again but the hassle of replacing the rear backing plate seems immense.

Thanks in advance.

If it were me I would just replace the wheel cylinder they don't cost to much rather than fighting it.

Wow good call. I thought everything was attached to the backing plate - what a relief. Thanks a ton

He beat me to it, replace the cylinder ...... one thing to be careful of .... I had a difficult tine of reattaching the brake line. the hole was at an odd angle, if it were me I'd mostly attach the brake line allowing it to turn a little on the line, then bolt in the cylinder and finish by tightening the line down. Bleed the whole system until nice clean new fluid comes out.

Good tip. I anticipated it'd be tougher with to attach the brake line - I'll start there and hopefully everything else lines up well.
