I am sure that this drum has never been off. The fronts have not, so I can't see why the rear would have been. The nut and cotter loooked like the day they were put on. I removed the three phillips screws, the cotter and nut, and backed off the adjuster all the way (top to bottom rotation). The drum spins freely with no noise. I then beat the holy living :dung: out of the drum as it rotated around. I then took a propane torch to the flange to drum area and beat it again. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Do they make drum pullers? I was using a 5lb lead hammer. Do I need a sledge? Bill

Take some penetrating oil and spray it around all the studs and around the center good and let it soak and it should come off. You should not have to pull the nut off the center the drum fits around it.

If rust is what has it seized, the lead hammer might not "jar" it enough to break the seal. That lead slug is way softer than what you're smackin' it with.

Try smackin' it with a good sized ball peen hammer between the lug studs all the way 'round. That solid steel ought to provide the shock and vibration it'll need to get it to comply. Might take a while since that thing's been on there since Noah got off the arc.

As an old junk yard mechanic told me one time, "Don't force it, Use a bigger hammer".
