Last week I lost all braking on my 76 CJ5 . I replaced the MC assuming this was the issue. After bleeding the drums and MC I still have no brakes. Advice would be greatly appreciated.

:)Sling,

You did not mention whether they were power or not?

The system is pretty simple Fluid in the MC gets pushed to each corners front & back wheel cylinders............either you have a large fluid leak somewhere or a bunch of air or perhaps moisture still in the system.

Or........... your linings are worn to the point they do not make contact with the drums.

Does the pedal just go to the floor with no wheel cylinder actuation?

Did you bench bleed the MC before installing?

I have power brakes and yes the pedal goes completely to the floor. I replaced the MC and was in the process of bleeding the system when I noticed fluid was leaking at one of the rear drums. Could this cause a complete loss of pedal though? Thanks guys.

Yes. Additionally, you may have sucked air back into the system when you released the pedal from the floor to the top end of pedal travel.

Review the rear wheel cylinder that was leaking. If in doubt, replace it.

I would be prepared to bleed each component again.

Step 1 Make sure the MC is full/good to go.

Step 2 Grab the wife/kid/neighbor to pump the brakes while you do the bleeding. Don't forget to check the reservior, don't wanna get air in again.

Step 3 If ya' gotta do by yourself get some clear plastic/vinyl tubing that fits snug on the bleeder. Run it into a clear bottle (Miller High Life bottles work great) you want it appx 1 1/2 to 2" off the bottom. Start at the furtherest point to bleed. Pump brakes with bleed open, go check for fluid in bottle, check fluid in MC. Pump brakes until fluid gets over the end of the tubing by 1" or so. When you let off the brake it can only suck back brake fluid. Move to next wheel.

WOW....That's an excellent Idea except I'll probably use New Castle Brown bottles instead:)):chug:
