1960 Jeep CJ5 Stock. Gradually updating the interior and will eventually get to the body. I want to leave it stock although the engine may need to be upgraded.
I ordered rubber replacements for my brake and clutch pedals for my 1960 CJ5 . Thought I ordered the right parts, but the replacements are much smaller than the pedals. The actual pedals are about 3 1/2 " by 2 1/2 ". The replacements are 2 7/8 inches by 2 1/2 inches. I also found that the current peals have an attachment that clamps on the top with 2 prongs, and the bottom with 1 prong. I've included some pictures. Maybe my original pedals are not stock? Or, maybe I ordered the wrong dang rubber for my brake and clutch peal. Heck, I'll use the current attachment pieces if I can get replacements for those. I've never seen the attachment pieces for a clutch and brake pedal before. My first post, sorry if I'm rambling or not giving enough information. Let me know if more info is needed. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

:)Good to see another Old CJ5 Jeeper on here..............your old pedals are original and quite honestly most I've seen just have the dimpled steel on the pedal without the rubber cover..............now the replacements pads in your picture fit the later CJ5 versions. My 65 is all original and has those rubber pads like you just bought. I believe the pedal pushing surface unbolt from the shaft........at least they do on mine.............you could always modify yours by taking a little metal off on all 4-sides and use the later replacement pads.
Just a thought!

Thanks for the info. I'm contemplating just leaving the pedals. No problem until the snow flies.

There is also plenty of spray on abrasive coatings that work well , some use additives like fine sand or ground up walnut shells that are added to the surface while the coating is still wet that do a great job.

I was thinking about the spray on abrasion. That may work. Thanks for the info.
