Greetings,

So I decided to upgrade my CJ7 from Drums to Disk. I've never dealt with brakes before. There aren't much options out-there which will make a final decision easier. However I really don't know what the difference is between:

1 Piece Axle, 2 Piece Axle and finally Floating Axle???

My Jeep is a V8 304AMC 4x4 Automatic. I don't need to lock anything on the tires to go 4x4.

Any input helps!

Thanks!!!

That is for your rear axle I don't know the year of your jeep but if it's a bit older you will probably have the AMC20 in your back end. And If it is stock it will be the two piece axle... Hope this helps.. What year is your jeep?

Are you converting the front or the rear?
As for your ? if your rear axle (AMC20 ) has a nut on the end of the axle it is the factory 2 piece. If it's flat and only has the lug nut studs than it has been converted to 1 piece. If it has lock outs it's been converted to a full floater.
The front is full floating.
