'79 CJ5, 258 I6, T150 w/Dana20, Dana30 front and AMC20 rear. My first Jeep! I'm looking forward to doing some minor upgrades and restoration while enjoying the ride.
Yes their broken.
Obviously you will need a new set.
Take your time removing the 4 fasteners.
 
Definitely broken. Luckily new and good used ones can be had.

Quadratec has them for $14 each so no worries.

It's all those speed-bumps at the mall that does it......:laugh:
In all my jeep'n years. I have seen plenty of broken shackle mounts.
Just never like the one the OP is show'n......:eek:

And both of the back mounts look identical, just like that one! I was looking at it up on the hoist thinking "What is keeping this rear end from just falling down?" And there's a car parked underneath it too.
 
Check out the billet ones from Crabtree tool. Expensive, but much stronger...
 
Thanks lowcountry, I found the website and 'been checking those out. Yeah, they're real purty, and real expensive..... but very very nice!
 
Just put a short bead of weld on the OEM shackle at the gap where the bushing hole is formed.
