I just bought a 79 CJ7 . All of the suspension bushings are rotted out bad. Is there a complete kit that I can buy to replace these?

I bought a kit from 4 wheel parts that was made prothane that had all the bushings necessary for the vehicle. The bad part is that there are no instructions on it. You have to use your owners manual and the web to find out stuff...but seems to be good stuff.

Finding the proper kit for stock springs should be easy enough. The question is rubber, neoprene, dry or greaseable bushing bolts.

Take each spring out seperately. Use a BIG hammer to drive the old bushing out, light oil on the new bearing/spring hole and drive the new one in. Replace the spring and go to the next. Try to lift the jeep high enough to use an impact wrench on th U-bolts. Not because it's needed but the U-bolt threads are fine and it takes a lot of driving in an uncomfortable position to do it by hand. While your at it check your stack bolts, frequently they get bent or actually broken. A cheap and easy fix for sure.
