Just looking for a few opinions since I am a bran new Jeeper. For those following our build thread: http://www.jeep-cj.com/forums/f98/1959-cj5-one-piece-time-21347/
you know we are building roughly a 1959 CJ5 from parts spanning 20 years or so. I am going to put in a 2 1/2" lift (probably ProComp) and would like some feed back on which shackles to use. The "C" style from the 1960 frame, or the standard shackle as used on the 1974 axles I am using. The old damaged shackle hangers have been removed from the frame, so I am ready to to with either type of shackle. Thanks!

The C style shackle isn't as strong and it flexes. Use the new style.
(By "new" i mean 1970's)

:agree:

That's kinda what I thought. Besides, the lift kit we are going to use is for a 1974. Might as well use parts that are meant to fit together.

Ditto. Warrior makes some decent ones.
