A trip to remember.

This Jeep and the guy driving it were both born the same month and year, January 1973. In two weeks they are going to go across country and back to attend some off road events, celebrate 70 years of the Jeep brand, and just to say they did it. The guy is a little fat, the Jeep is a little rusty, and both are a little slow in the morning. In the next two weeks the guy will try to exercise daily while the Jeep gets new grease, a U-joint, exhaust pipes and coolant flush amongst other things. The Jeep has been sitting for a few years, the guy just sits too much. The Jeep will be getting some assistance from the good folks at Quadratec. The guy will be just have to get off his butt and help himself. 11 days from now they leave. Hopefully on time, and hopefully they'll make it. Stay tuned for daily updates and where you can meet up with them for part of the trip.

I drove from Utah to Connecticut in my CJ5 while towing a jet ski by myself and went through a major snow storm in Wyoming. Piece of cake.

Looking forward to following this one!

Heck, I've been trying to decide whether I should drive the CJ4 hours to Tablerock lake late next month or just take the Bimmer. I trust the CJ to get me anywhere, but with gas prices, and the fact that we've been hovering around 100 degrees in Missouri, the BMW with it's 30mpg and AC might be the better choice. I would have a lot more fun driving the Jeep though. Guess I'll see what the forcast is and decide from there. Hopefully we'll have 80's and no rain. If so, the CJ will get it's road trip. :D
