I noticed that a lot of people have swapped cams when they did the 4.0 head swap. Do you need to upgrade the stock camshaft when you do the 4.0 head swap? If so what is a good cam to upgrade too?

You do not need to change the cam. Most people will do the 4.0 head swap so the engine can breathe better. "bigger valves" A cam will help a little more by opening them a little more. I used the comp cam 68-201-4 because it gave me more low end power. It's kind of like a towing cam. If you want some high revving power you would want something different. Go to all the cam websites and keep asking questions and you can decide what cam will fit your needs if you decide to get one.

Thanks guys for the response. I am trying to stay in a budget and the cam swap was going to send me over the edge, not to far over but enough to matter. I do the like the idea of swapping the cam since everything is taken apart. I am still on the scavenger hunt of getting all the parts together and still in the process of getting the old CJ taken apart. I would like to have everything fixed to really enjoy the jeep this spring.
