Body Can anyone identify this hard top? I am hoping to find new window seals for the sliding side windows. Maybe that would be a better question to ask?

Sorry about the delay. "Classic" hardtops were always a dead end. I've never seen a CJ7 one before, the odd one that would pop up were for CJ5 's and there was always very little information about them. The things they had in common were they were in the midwest, and they bought directly from an AMC dealer.

Unfortunately that's about all I've got.

If you measure all 4 sides, top, bottom, left, right, and tell us what they are., I'll measure my hardtop and tell you how close they are ti a factory CJ7 hardtop.

IIRC when I did the write up for the CJ5 model I ran across a hard top like that. It was called the Tank Top. Those write ups got converted to Wiki so not sure it's in there anymore.

Thanks for your input!
Everything you wrote before the transfer to a WIKI is still there. Just a different link. (Link)-> Civilian -<

Pretty sure that's going to be a tough find although like Elwood said your in the right part of the country. The shape of them compared to a standard hard top window is pretty different. Plus you lose the slider function as well.

Since your in Texas your probably familiar with Collins Bros. If they have one to sell be prepared for sticker shock. I'm betting you could get another stock hard top for what you'll pay. That said you still lose the slider function.

I take it the whole window is gone , frame and all?

No, the windows and frame are in good shape. I was looking for the felt parts that the window slides in. Its funny you mention collins bros. I used to live down the street from his shop almost twenty years ago. I still live really close, so that could be an option.

Well that's a pretty rare top and if your only looking for felt there has to be options around you. Having the windows and frames I'd even go a hot rod shop around you if you can't find suitable replacements.

If you like running the hardtop the slider widows are a pretty sweet option. Maybe check some auto glass replacement places in your area as well. It's a cool top. Let us know what you come up with. Maybe ask Dennis for places he'd use if he doesn't have replacements.
