Can I get you guys to post some pictures of your CJ5 's with a 2 1/2" lift and 32" and 33" tires? I'm trying to narrow down what I want and feel like 2 1/2" suspension lift is what i want to go with but want to see some examples of 32 and 33" tires...also let me know what size wheels you are running. Please give me your thoughts on a mild off roader and good highway handling combination. I appreciate this site so much...thanks for all the insight. thanks again!

2 1/2' lift with 1" body lift. these are 31" BFG KOs. 33s are OK off road and there is clearance for most articulation My next off road tires will be 32" BFG KM2s. I like 31s on the street, they handle well and are not too tippy in the corners. 33s at 70 MPH can be a bit scary 31s are a more comfortable drive. IMHO.

thanks alot for the post...I have 31's on mine today with stock suspension and I agree they do handle pretty good. I had an 80 CJ5 with 35's years ago and couldn't keep it on the road...so been to that extreme too. So I'm leaning toward the little more aggressive look of 32s or 33s with the slight 2 1/2" lift to keep a somewhat original classic look with a little more aggressive stance but hopefully keep decent handling. Just wanting to see some scenarios. Again thanks for the post...and everyone, please keep them coming. thanks again.

yellow jeep is 2.5 with 31s:chug:

thanks...good looking stance on the yellow one. Do you know what the white one has to?

it would seem the fender skirts make a difference in appearance.

I do love my skirts, they keep some of the mud off the windshield.:D

A few pic's of my Jeep with 32" Uniroyal Laredo MT's. It has a 2" body lift and fender trimming. I've been told that it is wise to go with the smallest lift to fit your tires. No matter how high it is it won't gain you any ground clearance. Unless all you're going to do is mud bogs or car shows...
I will also note - I used 2" aluminum wheel spacers to gain a wide stance. This drastically affected the ability to "race" through the woods and around trees. Trails I used to be able to zip through I was having to back up to get around trees. You might be able to take up some of this by adjusting the steering stops.
