It’s started flooding out on any subtle incline.
Additionally I’m getting a stumble on random occasions usually in 4th gear it feels like the Jeep bucks while cruising along.

It seems more ignition related started after replacing the ICM. If I drop the clutch it revs right back up.
The carb is not original and has a custom adapter welded up to mate to the manifold.

Rebuilding the YFA is really simple, I went through mine with great results but pulled it in favor of a 2 barrel Motorcraft for off road performance. I got my rebuild kit through Mikes Carburetor Parts and rebuild took about 45min. You do have some interesting things going on though, looks to be a 2 barrel AMC intake with an adapter to use a 1 barrel carb. Might check the connections for vacuum leaks with all those mating surfaces. Good luck!

Very interesting indeed, some home brewed PO magic...... your Jeep will make more power for sure with a motorcraft 2 barrel swap, I was very happy with mine on my AMC 360

You have a factory carter BBD 2 barrel intake , the BBD 2 barrel is sensitive to heat causing it to warp do to its thin casting, you will find a lot of people complaining about them, it is usually recommend to swap a Weber or motorcraft on

I just pulled the manifold and what looks to be a carter YF off of my donor motor. PO said the intake was new and carb had just been rebuilt.
The intake manifold is for a 1 barrel carb and doesn't need an adaptor.
I don't need either and would let them go for a reasonable price if you need them. It does NOT have the exhaust manifold on it.
PM me if interested.
That said........I recently put a MC 2100 on mine and am very pleased with it.

TnCJ - thanks for the offer. I think you guys have convinced me of a 2100/50 swap, plus I've maybe averaged 10mpg since purchase in June.

I'll pop it off this weekend and get some dimensions of the mounting holes.
Do the MC2100's bolt straight up to these manifolds or is an adapter needed?

Read a few old threads about a MC2100 seller named Gronk on fleabay - is he recommended or or other suppliers?

Since your manifold was originally made for a 2 barrel if you can get all of the homemade stuff off you should be good to go.
Yes you will need an adaptor.
I purchased my 2100 from Gronk and was very happy about the transaction. I even emailed him a couple of times with questions and he replied promptly. He will email you instructions on a PDF format, it's a little much but just pick out the parts that pertain to your situation.
If you buy his kit it comes with the adaptor.
The hardest part was hooking up the throttle linkage but that wasn't all that hard either. I work at a snails pace but I had my old carb off and new one on and running in an afternoon.
Good luck with it, I really think you will be happy with it. It was one of the easiest mods i've done on my Jeep, I didn't even need to adjust the carb it ran well right off the bat.
