So it appears that my CJ has negative caster and need to adjust because of the lift.

Any recommendations on who to get the shims from? Steel correct?

Thanks

I haven't measured anything, any ideas on the paticulars other than caster degree correction? Bolt location and size? Basically shackle lift I believe to be around 2.5.

Shackle lifts do tend to move the castor the wrong way. Like a 1/2" shackle lift should be max. A shackle lift does tend to make the front axle back and forth a bit also.

Just got the specs from alignment shop. Should I go with 2* or 3* shims?

I'd go with the 2 degree shims. 3's might be hard to find, usually they go in 2 degree increments.

Got the shims and they are 2.5" wide and the springs are 2". Is this still going to work or should I send them back?

I would send them back, unless you have access to a bandsaw to cut them down or a plasma torch. They won't fit right between the u-bolts, which sandwich the springs and shim.

I had the same issue, you can have them machined down to the right size pretty cheap if you can't order the right ones.

Check the bolt hole as well, I had to have mine drilled out as well.

Has anyone else had trouble with shims walking out under spring compression, after sheering the center bolt?
I did on both ends and seemed to fix it by heating the h*** out of them and puting a slight arch in each to match the spring perch on the axle. The perch is not flat and my rubicon x springs are anything but flat and tightening the U bolt enough to sandwich everything tight was not possible.

I have never had that problem and no longer have shims but can start with a suggestion like larger u-bolts. I am using all 9/16", which get tightened down to 100 lbs., which is oem spec.
