In the lead up to Chrysler’s restructuring deadline, the carmaker was forced to shutdown a number of plants and leave thousands of vehicles, engines and components unfinished. Once Chrysler emerges from bankruptcy and resumes production, the new company will have to finish assembling what was left while also preparing the plants for the changeover to 2010 models. But new information brought to light today could have Chrysler in bankruptcy for another two years instead of the 30-60 day window previously discussed.Even with a 30-60 day bankruptcy timeline, Chrysler will be late getting its 2010 vehicles to market, the carmaker’s manufacturing chief Frank Ewasyshyn explained to Automotive News.
