I have the chance to snag a 83 CJ8 project. Guy has everything except for the main tub. (To far gone to save) He has the complete chassis motor Transmission wheels interior front end vin title etc etc etc. frame has already been restored new fuel tank and rebuilt AMC20 with 4.10 gears and one piece shafts. (Like I said everything but the tub) Any idea what it's worth. Frame has new shocks and rebuilt leafs with an extra leaf added to the front.

Here are a few pictures 3407afed07c9b8336749e9dd0abbeb67.jpga4b291a1c48e873e4c75a4703f4365f3.jpg25841b15b782dd8ce0f080e57ebdfea9.jpgb9244d26cfb5977ce95344abd2205681.jpg

Projects are always hard to guess at to me unless I see what is there in person
Is any of the drive train rebuilt yet ?

No but apparently the motor only had a few thousand miles before being swapped out for V8 years ago. Current owner was going to put the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l back in. Good or bad it's low mileage but been sitting so I'd still go through it

Its hard to tell from pictures. My gut and brain dont always agree, but this time they're both at $1500. If the seller has reciepts for the shop that rebuilt the diff, that number could go up. I tend to not believe what people selling vehicles say....

I can see the one piece shafts. He still has the parts new in the box to do the front axle which is why it's out.

I was thinking that price range also. What are you going to do about a body ?

You might try Rudy's for a tub. He only deals with OEM parts, but in excellent condition.

Yeah I would look for original good condition also, paying a high price if I had to. I hear to many stories about hours and hours, and more hours getting all the problems corrected with the new metal ones. Just my thoughts. I’m not a sheet metal guy is why I say this.

Or you could go aluminum like this one. 6F49A2DE-3F09-40FF-BF34-7E3EBB09B8F9.jpeg
