:)Wanted to plug a member here on this site that goes by "STICH".... that word in itself should tell you what he does........fantastic guy and does some great upholstery work as evidenced by what he did to my old CJ low back seats. He is in Northern California near Jackson..............I even had him install seat heaters for those cold nasty mornings on the trail...............check him out if you need something recovered.

looks like he did a fair ammount of restuffing too. Looks good.

I think CJ seats are one of those subjects that we don't discuss too much as there are not a lot of options and even fewer good ones.

Man he really brought up to the 21st century. They look very modern and I bet they are much more comfortable to boot. We should talk more about seat since they are hard to find good ones that fit well and perform. I like the reupolster options for the classic seats since you know thay fit correctly from the factory and usually just need a refresh.

Low backs, love'em a real mans seat, Jeeps aren't supposed to be plush and overly comfortable. Love'em......

They are too supposed to be comfortable!!

I actually think they are comfortable, but I'm a little twisted. Lots of folks whine about low backs so I'm inclined to disagree. The contrarian in me I guess. There is a growing part of me that believes todays society has gotten to soft. We are supposed to suffer a little from time to time. That's why I love my Jeep. No nonsence, cold when it's cold, hot when it's hot, when going past a farm or dead animal it stinks, a field full of flowers smells sweet, when you sit in one position for a while it hurts a little. Motorcycles were a very big part of my life so if you see a similarity to cycling in my comments, well you are supposed to. After my divorce it became clear that I couldn't have both a motorcycle and a hunting vehicle. So, the 1984 Harley Davidson Shovelhead, one of the most unreliable vehicles ever made, was sold to fund my Jeep project.

:) Glad you folks like them!
The old seats were very comfortable , these old seats were also the end of the spring suspension era in car seats........most seats now use foam and cords. I looked at all of the aftermarket seats and for me they never fitted correctly and looked too large for the compartment they were in.........not withstanding getting into the tool box under the passenger seat with a tall seat would be next to impossible............then after I decided I was moving the old drivers side under the seat fuel tank to the back and build another tool box under the drivers seat the old seats were back in play again and I took them up to Stich's house and the rest is history............building new tilting brackets soon and another tool box.
