YJ springs dont really give you any lift.. they are a little bit longer so it moves your axle forward a bit. So in theory a 4" lift from a CJ is about equal to a 4" lift in a YJ spring

Ya, I know the YJ spring is flatter so I won't get any lift from it. You state a 4" CJ and 4"YJ is about the same but I'm wondering if that's what you really meant. I'm thinking a 2" CJ spring would be about the same as a 4" YJ spring but not sure on that, that's why I'm asking for pics and details.

Thanks

I cant post pics from work.. I had a 4" lift on a CJ using CJ springs.. When we changed to a 3/4 ton front and out boarded it we used a set of YJ front 4" lift to replace the CJ fronts.. there was no difference in hieght between the 2. You do realize that YJ springs are wider then CJ and can only be used on the front once you either change the fron shackle mounts and modify the spring perches. you can find shackles that are made to step down from the 2.5" wide springs to the 2" wide springs. so if you swap springs 2" yj= 2" CJ, 4" yj = 4" CJ stock YJ = Stock CJ. The appeal of using them is they are cheap, wider and flex better then CJ's

So the rusty springs in the front are 4 inch lift 75 C-j5 springs. The new black springs are YJ 4 inch lift springs. The YJ Springs gave me aprox. 2 additional inches of lift when installed. If I did it all again I would run 2.5 OME springs.

Yes I am aware of the spring width difference and already have the crabtree hangers that account for that and the fact the YJ fronts are longer.

And yes, wanting the added flex

Then pick up a set of what ever height YJ springs will work with your application. Whats your end plan for it? what size tires?

I've got some Frankenlift YJ springs I was going to do SOA with but need to be able to still fit the old girl in the garage. With that being said, I decided to stay SUA to avoid issues with axle wrap and not too high so she will fit in. I'm planning on dropping down to 35s as well. I figure it will work better for me since moving to this side of the state where the wheeling is a bit different. (TX)
