Hello I think my blinker switch is broken however I don't know how to remove this metal plate to get to the switch. Does anyone have experience/tips on removing this plate and replacing the blinker switch?

Thank You
DB

Buy the tool.. its pretty cheap and easy to remove. the blinker arm can be easily removed before you pull that plate off. Its the first thing I remove when taking a column apart.. keeps from damaging the blinker switch if the column fall over.. and it only goes back on one direction. Can I ask why you are taking it apart? Is it tilt? Ive torn a few down and rebuilt them so if you need any help give me a shout.

The blinkers stopped working and it is not the blinker relay or power. I think it is the switch. By the way how do you get the blinker arm off. Thank you for the help.

Follow wehre the arm goes into the column. Theres 3 long holes close to the center of the shaft. One of them should be shaped like a L. Rotate the shaft until you can see the screw that holds the arm on and remove it.. Thats it. One screw and its off. Atleast thats how it works with the 76 and up and they look like the same column.
