Hello guys and greetings from Germany!
Currently I am building up my CJ5 , which I got completely disassembled in boxes some years ago... Right now, I am almost finished and trying to rearrange the wiring which was messed by the last owner. Following problem: the cables of the oil pressure switch have been cut (2 wires: red and red/white) and I do not know where they are supposed to lead to... also the wiring diagram does not help me. It says one should go the elec. choke!? I have an Edelbrock carburetor with manual choke installed. Could you tell me, if I need the switch elsewhere e.g. where the cables are connected or supposed to lead to? Thank you!

Welcome Achim,
You don't say what year CJ?
The 70s-80s CJ have a purple and red wires.
70s oil gauge = purple wire to oil pressure switch,, red wire to fuse box
80s oil gauge = purple wire to oil pressure switch, red wire spliced to another red wire running from the fuel gauge then continues to the 4wdr lamp. The red wires from the fuel gauge and spliced in oil gauge run to the fuse box.
Hope this helps.

Hello Posi!
Thank you! It is a CJ from 1979. Actually the connector has only a red and red/white cable. I hope the pictures help. I connected the purple one (which is coming from the dashboard fusebox) to the pressure sensor next to the switch directly. I am not sure what purpose the switch has, because the oil pressure gauge is working... So do I need to connect the Two cables at all? Thank you!
