1978 CJ5 I6 / 3spd Transmission and Dana 20 Transfer.... project in progress
So I will not make a long story, but I am trying to make a CJ5 daily driver. When I got this jeep it came as a rolling chassis, a folded in two tub and the rest of the parts in milk crates. Now have the chassis together, new brakes, lines etc. Now the interesting part, installed a I6 engine, mated with a 3spd and Dana 20 Transfer Case ., come to find it had a 4" lift so changed the springs to stock , shackles and bushings..... but still looks like the rear driveshaft is on a very steep angle.
I don't know what a stock CJ5 driveshaft looked like so would appreciate any input, not sure that im maybe in over my head with this project.

It could just be that you don't have the weight of the body on it so its still sitting high. I think that after you put the tub on and the springs settle some you will be fine.

I've got some pics of mine when the tub was off. I will find them and post soon. All stock btw.

Its pretty steep here but, as was mentioned there is a lot of weight removed. I remember measuring when I took the tub off, but can't remember details. Was at least an inch or two that the frame rose if memory serves me correctly. But, I've had a couple  since then...
Another angle.

Hope this might help!:chug:

Thanks, Im going to keep on going then
