2011 Z71 Silverado, when i get the money a CJ5, or CJ7.
First post on here so not sure if this is the right form or not.
When ever i get the 2 dirbikes i don't ride anymore sold i will be in the market for a either a CJ5 or 7. I have been looking at prices and the 5's are more appealing because of the cheaper price and i am just looking for a trail/mudding rig but they dont seem to have much room especially since i am 6 foot 4. Will my knees be in the dash and head be above the role bar? What do yall have to say?

I'm pretty sure that the front seating area in a CJ5 is equal to a CJ7 . I t is the backseat passengers who suffer approx 10 inches less footspace. As for the headroom, again a 5 is equal to a 7. I'm 6'1", long torso, and if properly belted while 4x4ing, my head doesn't come near the roll bar.

Welcome NC, this is a great forum, enjoy!

the 7 is a bit easier to get in and out of because of the door shape but that is only a problem when you become fat and old. :D

I'm 6'9" & I bought a 66 CJ-6A I had to do a slight mod on the seat adjusters. I lifted the front of them about 1.3875" (bent strap iron till I can permanently modify the seat mount). Worked out great and made it a sheer pleasure to drive. and yes the 7 is a bit easier to get in and out of - door shape. No I would not trade for a 7.

I started with a 5 but have bad knees and their isn't enough leg room to the point it was killing me to drive it. Now I have a 7 and it has so much more leg room I could drive it all day with no problems.

I had had 2 CJ5 's and 1 CJ7 , currently I have a 5. I have to say that you may have a little more leg room in a 7 but not much. As said before its the rear that reaps the benefits! The 7 will give a better ride providing suspension simply due to the length. I like 7 but there is just something about a 5.

Thanks for the info, never had the chance to actually get sit in one so this helped alot!

:) When you start talking ten thousands of an inch, there really isn't any about. ;)
 a 7 has a lot more leg room then a 5.
