cj5 rear seat

Can anyone give the dimensions on a rear seat on a 73 CJ5 as well as the room between the fenderwells? My grandfather has started making front seat frames for his jeeps and wanted to make me a rear seat frame for mine as well. I assume his measurements off his would be different as his are all early 50's models. All help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

OK, I think I missed something here, where are your wheel wells that you can not measure them yourself??

I am currently in Georgia where i live and my jeep is currently on my grandparents farm in virginia. My grandfather lives in georgia as well so neither can measure mine at this time. Trying to have one made so i'll have it next time i go up.

If anyone has pics of how the rear seats mount I'd appreciate it. I've got the type of seat that doesn't fold in half, but it looks like it folds forward. I'm not sure if I have all the right hardware though. TIA

Does no one have a CJ5 from 72-75 they can't get a measurement off of?

The measurement between the wheel wells is 36" on all CJ5 's. I think this is the same for all years of the CJ5 . The differences in dimensions is the hood and front fenders and changes to frame design.

Again, I have been incorrect before; but it has been a while...

I appreciate that very much. I had measured the older jeeps but didn't know for sure if it was the same as mine. i'll go with that and see.

Sorry I was at work and forgot to measure once I got home. All in all that was stupid too, I measured the '75 for new floor material and it was 36" X 48".

I appreciate it Hedgehog. I just have to get the frame built now. I've been trying to get a pic of a original frame or just a seat so i can get an idea of height and depth. May just have to wing it and see how it looks.

I just opened the box for the rear seat for a 1980 CJ5 . There really isn't a frame per say, as much as it is two L-brackets for the front, and this latch thing for the rear of the seat. These pieces came with the seat I got last November/December. I just opened them up. I can get a pic, BUT I'm out of gallery space and can't upload it.
