Welding on the rock rails - Run your heat on the rails a little hotter the angle iron body side weld looks a little cold (caterpillar like). I like your design, I just might steel it for myself. I've got fairly light weight nerf bars on my CJ right now.

Yes mate she was a bit cold I've got my welding at home as hot as I can go without dropping out power I've only spot welded the main welds on the tube n bends will take them to work and hit them with our big welder
100mm plate is 6mm and steam pipe is 5mm wall don't think they will bend to quick

But they could be brittle, we run into that with well casing. The pipe stuck fairly well, it's the big thick (I'm guessing) angle iron (edit: plate) that's taking the heat. I thought I saw that the ends were tacked. I love my 110v (house current here in the US) MIG, but when it comes to sticking the big stuff the Thermal Arc Stick welder gets the nod. The MIG still gets the job of sticking things together, but the stick serves as the BIG glue, at least for my set-up.

Sorry guys I've been snow under at work last couple of mths and haven't had to much time on the old CJ6 and I did a gearbox on my daily drive and trying to find parts for a full size down here isn't easy
