New to square door Jeeps and am building a CJ8 from CJ5 and CJ7 parts lying around. Have no idea about what doors I can use on the Scrambler except that I know that I want full steel doors. What do I need to look for, options or changes over the years that I need to know as I start my search? A link to a Jeep CJ/YJ Doors for Dummies article or BB discussion would be great. Finally, if anyone has a set that they might want to get rid of, I'd be interested. Live in Mid-Atlantic region - Virginia Beach, VA - the closer the better.

Thanks,
Ty

Your jeep will use the 80-86 CJ7 , 81-84 CJ8 and 87-94 wrangler square headlight doors. They are all the same dimensions and have the paddle door handle.

Agreed. The only thing to worry about is the latch striker. And if they don't match the doors you find, buy the strikers and install them on the Jeep body and go. Easy deal.

Thanks for the scoop. Was walking around a local JY yesterday and found a set of YJ half doors. Might grab them today just to have while I look for full doors. Appreciate the door strike info - was wondering about the different types.

All the Scramblers had the later style paddle doors that latch onto a striker pin, so you shouldn't have to worry about it. You might have to buy these and add them to your tub, as soft top equipped Jeeps didn't come with them.
