CJ7 Fuel tank

Im looking for a fuel tank for my 83 CJ7 . After looking at a few places one in particular being Morris4x4 I noticed not one of the pictures have the fuel tank with the sending unit on the right upper half and the filler neck on the right side as mine does. Am I just looking at the pictures wrong? Thanks for yalls help

I have an 83cj with a fairly new tank want it? I am planning on going with the poly tank.

I've never owned a CJ newer then 79 but every tank I swapped out the sending unit was more on the left (driverside).

Like the one from Morris below. Your looking at the pic as if your standing facing the Jeep.

I dont know where the PO got this fuel tank...maybe its not a cj tank because the sending unit and filler lines are on the same side-passenger

I wonder if yours was equipped with a factory 20 gallon tank? Mine is a 15 gallon which is the standard tank. Oh it also looks like you can actually shorten your hoses since your lines come from the driver side.

Will the 15 gallon tank fit as long as I change the sending unit if mine was the 20? and get new straps of course

Just guessing that either tank has to use the same mounts from the rear cross member to the inside cross member. I'm gonna guess that you would probably need a 15 gallon tank skid plate due to the different tank shapes.

Mine looks like that too, passenger side. I always thought it was 16 or 18 ga? I really should pay more attention when filling up .. ***edit. I guess mine is twenty. First one is 15ga

my 83 also has this same fuel tank. sending unit is shot and I am having no luck finding a replacement. does anyone have the parts list that goes with these schematics? this tank is deeper than most and all of the units I tried in the past have not been long enough for the tank.
