Hi everyone. I am looking to buy a good manual for the 1985 CJ7 . Something that covers wiring and vacuum as well as drive tran. Also I would like to rebuild my TF999 possibly with some upgrades. Any help on which would be a good investment would be appreciated. Thanks Scott

Yep. That is the one I have. Very useful.

In addition to that "Real Manual" the MR252, I have found that the other aftermarket ones do have quite a bit of useful information also. The electrical drawings seem to be on the weak side in all of them though, so I would recommend an aftermarket schematic.

Amazon might have what you need. Unfortunately the shop manuals seem to be out of print. I'd look on Ebay. Yes the manuals will seem expensive, but they are worth every penny for reliable information. AMC didn't change he CJ's much from year to year except for the well documented major model changes. If you need a manual for '85, you would be fairly safe to buy one in the '80 ('79?)to '86 model years. Emissions might change a little from year to year, but most everything else stayed the same.

I'm pretty sure I bought factory service manual reprints from

1984-1986 Jeep CJ-7 & Scrambler Repair Shop Manual Reprint 2 Vol. Set M.R.252

This item indicates "Wiring Diagrams sold separately," and I didn't see "Wiring Diagrams" in the related items list.

If I were looking for manuals, I'd call them.

I found the mr252 manual used on e bay they were asking $29 I offered $15 and got it. This is going to make my life a lot easier. Thanks for the help in finding this manual.
