I'm in the process of rebuilding my 75 CJ5 and getting ready to put new brake lines on the frame. Everything on the brake system will be new, except the proportioning valve, cause I can't seem to find an OEM replacement.

Does anyone have any recommendations for the best way to clean a proportioning valve? I got the outside cleaned off and sprayed brake parts cleaner through the insides, but it still looks like there is a lot of residue built up on the inside. Also, is there anyway to test it prior to installing it to make sure it's working properly? Or should I just junk it and get one of the adjustable ones from Jegs or Summit?

Thanks - Bill

gert - Thanks, I looked at those, but it says they are for disc/drums and I have drums all the way around. Will it still work?

So sometimes I guess I react before the brain kicks in. After looking at the link, that gert provided, for the 3rd time I did find a proportioning valve that would work on the 75 with drums all around.

Thanks again gert :notworthy:
