connectors by battery

i have 2 conectors beside my battery almost on the fire wall that i have no clue what they are i have an 85 CJ7

sounds like the diagnostic link......yellow rubber cover over the conectors?

yes that is it kinda diagnostics would it be for

On an '85 CJ you can access the electronic ignition modual, O2 sensor data, and carburator feed back. It can also store a VERY Limited number of diagnostic trouble codes. I have the scan tool that plugs into that, but I haven't gotten around to plug it into my CJ yet.
