Cool Captain America Jeep
Ben is a big guy, he shouldn't really fit in a little flatfender jeep, but he does some how.
this thing is pretty cool, here is a short description of it and how he swaps engines depending on the terrain he's headed to from an email Ben sent me:
"Dec 1980 my Jeep came back from Dumont dunes and was taken ALL the way down...including the motor. JeepersJamborre was the maiden voyage for the rebuild. The Rubicon motor was/is a wrecking yard motor. The only thing I have done since is a timing chain. It was necessary because the chain was coming apart with one of the links coming around and hitting the cover....Hmmmmm that is a strange noise. Of course it was changed the night before the JJ in about 1990. I listened to it for a week at Moab EasterJeep Safari. After the Rubicon the original 500hp small block Chevy was fitted for the dunes. I have been changing motors depending on dunes/trail. Takes about 3-4 hours."
Ben runs an independent rear suspension, it's pretty wacky, if not controversial amongst jeepers.
