Does any know if these are RH or LH threads?
I assumed RH (hence counter-clockwise to loosen). No Luck

Second question - is there a trick to breaking them loose.

Trying to change timing gears/chain but can't get the crank bolt off.

They are right hand thread. I usualy use a big hammer to smack the wrench to get it started.

Yup right hand .Use method already noted or 1/2"impact.Maybe some overly efficient person used locktite on it.Hope not.:):) Mike

Broke it loose by laying the breaker bar in the frame and cranking over the engine! Thanks for the info on the thread direction.
