Guys I have a question. Finished my build on my 79 new springs, bushings, had to weld on new perches. When I went to do a string alignment I noticed my rear is toeing inward and can't seem to figure out what is wrong. Can pinion angle cause this problem.

How are you measuring it?

Eyeballing the string the they look to toe in. It was squirrelly driving past 45mph

Like Torx said, if your rear axle is toed in, the axle would have to be bent. There is no adjustment. If the Jeep is "squirley" over 45MPH, you probably have too little caster on the front axle. The pinion should be pointed down 6° to 8°. You can do this with shims. Check by putting a magnetic level across the yoke. You can get a pretty good idea by downloading an app for your phone too.

Don't try to guess the caster based on the pinion angle. Measure the caster angle instead. You want the top of the inner knuckle leaning 4 to 6 degrees to the rear.

But yes, if your rear axle has toe in, it's bent. But I would check the caster on the front and go from there.

Is the rear leaking oil at the backing plates? First sign of bent housing if it is.
I would get the jeep to and alignment shop ASAP so you know for sure of what you are dealing with.
My bet-It's the front axle settings, that are way out of spec.
