My question is will a Dana 44 axles brakes mount up to a 1973 CJ5 Dana 30 axle I found a Dana 44 axle out of a ram charger that has disc brakes for 100.00 bucks I haven't picked it up yet because I don't know if it will fit I want to keep the Dana 30 for now in the jeep but really need to get rid of the drum brakes that i am using on the jeep because stopping off road become somewhat of an oh sh!?t thing thanks for the help

It would be possable since they should interchange from the C's out.
You would need new inner shafts since it's a different size axle joint,
and the outers need to stay with the hub assy. as the spindle is longer
on the 44.

IMO you would be better off looking for a 30 with disc. brakes, or just
the parts you need from it.

76-78 have a 6 bolt caliper mount with 1-1/8 " thick rotors. You need the spindles too with longer studs. These are getting hard to find.

78- up have a 2 bolt caliper mount to the knuckle. Take the whole knuckle too.

Not a hard bolt up. Master cylinder needs updating as well.

Does anyone know of any kind of "Interchange Guide" for this type of stuff? I don't know how many times I've gone and asked the guys at Parts Mike these questions...

There are many ways to do it.

Easiest is to find a whole axle.

I have a whole setup with 6 bolt caliper mounts. PM me if interested.
