Are they interchangeable? I have some six bolt Dana 30 hubs and wanted to know if they would be a direct replacement for Dana 44 six bolt hubs. I thought they were but need to know for sure.

:)In the late 70's and 80's Yep.........same hub and the spindles will also interchange if you wanted to put 44 spindles on a Dana 30 .

Pete, are you talking about the Hub (with the wheel studs in it)or the locking hub.

Sorry shouldve stated it clearly. The locking hubs themselves. Im thinking its not gonna work now after a little more searching around.

The locking hubs for the 44 are different than the 30.
But if your talking about RR41mag needing a hub, they might work as scouts use Dana 30 outers IIRC. (Kane would know)
Ask him what spline count he has, true 44's use a 19 spline outer axle for the lockout.

Not sure what you can tell by the pic's but the frist one is a Dana 30 next to a Dana 44 external type, the 2nd one is a Dana 44 internal type. Note the fine 27(?)spline in the 30 compared to the 19 spline in the 44.

Pete thank you very much. Sounds like they will work. I'm sure Im gonna buy them

My scout outer shaft fit right into the Dana 30 hub so they should be a bolt in for you.

Ok thanks for the replies everyone. I'll take them off after work today. :)
