TCase danna 300 clunk

My Dana 300 made a loud bang when driving now it has a clunking noise it still goes through 2,4, and 4l but it has the same clunking noise when driving any ideas? I made sure the drive shaft was good. seems like the faster I go the worse it gets because when I shift into third it clunks very badly.

Are you sure it's the Transfer Case and not the Transmission

yes 100% the nosie is from t case

If it's happening in all gears (2H, 4H and 4L) then it sounds like either an input or rear output bearing. Front output bearing would be out of play in 2H. If it's twin-sticked, you could disengage the rear output as a test to be sure.

No chance it's the front u-joint on the rear drive shaft?

Not twin sticked. but thanks this helps, also did new u joints and its not those I made sure. you think I should just drop the case and inspect the insides?

If you can't see anything externally like a bad u-joint, etc, then your next step is to drop the unit and open it up.

Could be a broken tooth on one of the gears. If so great time to get a 4-1 kitt
