I have to replace the defrost hose from the heater to the windshield (81 CJ5 ). Removing the dash would make it alot easiser. How hard is it to pull back the dash a few inches. Any tips? I also have a broken heater cable, is the heater plastic body hard to remove

If your 81 is like my 83 you have to fold the windshield down to get to some of the dashpad bolts.
After I had all the bolts out I hung it from the top corners with a couple 4" long bolts. The wires will let you pull it out a few inches.
The heater box on mine was two pieces. The bolts that hold it in come through the firewall and have nuts on them.
