Dashboard question

I have a question on my dash pad in my cj. I have noticed many cj's with the AMC logo and the word Jeep is silver. My logo is black the same as the dash. Is that a decal or painted on ? It looks good silver and would match my cj. Thanks for all the information , this site rocks

That looks oem, the one my '86 came with was all black like that one. BTW, that is a very clean looking rig!
