In the mid 80s there should have been a computer to control the TPS and IAC. Since you have the carb already you might as well give it a try. The TPS is only a sensor so you do not need that. The IAC does control air going into the carb. If you leave it in place, it will just plug up that hole and you should be o.k. There might be a plug covering up the idle adjustment screw, so you might have to drill it out, I assume that you do not have a functioning computer and have already done the Nutter by pass.

Thanks for the rely Torxhead! AFAIK my jeep is old enough to not need the nutter bypass. I was told that 1984 and up needed the bypass.

I'll have to look at the carb in regards to the idle adjustment screw. Will take a look when I get home and report back. I was hoping it would be ok to put a blockoff plate in place of the IAC.

My '83 is the same as my '84 so your '83 should have a computer and need the bypass.

Correct. Late '82 was the beginning of the computer. You can tell by the back of the carb. The Carter BBD that was used for the computerized years had a small wiring harness attached to the rear of the carb. Also moved thread to proper forum.

Do you need to be concerned about SMOG testing, where you live?
In Ca, that carb is not SMOG legal for use on our Jeeps.

I do not need to worry about emissions. My Carter BBD did have wires coming out the back for the stepper motor. If I need to do the nutter bypass (I was told I did not) then I can do that this weekend... two snips, four strips, and solder.

I just wanted to make sure this carb would be useable and that I could put a cover over the IAC pathways.

This may help you.
Ignition (Some Mods)

2150's have a known history of vacuum leaks, at the rear base where it mates with the manifold.

I finally got my new jets in the mail. I bought a set of 47s just to have and a set of 45s. According to everything I've read, 47s are for sea level. For every 2K in additional altitude, go down a size. So, I figured 45's would be good, with a slight bit more adjustment. Should I have picked up 44's?

I think you should go ahead and try the jets you purchased. Then check the spark plug burn colors to determine what jet size would work best.
