did the CJ-5 have a back seat?

hello, just a quick question. just bought a project '77 CJ5 and after long hours online and looking at others cj's one trend i noticed is that i haven't seen one CJ5 with a back seat. i know that there is not a lot of room back there to put one, but i have a three year old daughter and a wife that i'd like to drive around in this baby once i get her up and running and to do that i need at least three seats. did they come with a back seat?? would one from a CJ7 fit back there?? if no to both of those any suggestions?? thanks

My 72 has a factory back seat. A 76 and up seat should fit your CJ and use the existing holes in the floor. Be sure you get the brackets if you buy a used seat.

thanks for the info. that's a great help and a load off my mind. like i said i haven't seen a single pick where someone had a seat in the back. evidently so one takes people diving with them any more. now i just have to track down a seat.

Yeah my '78 had one as well. It was a fixed back style not a fold and tumble. Like CJ said make sure you grab the bracket to mount them with and it'll bolt right in. The seat belts also mount to those brackets.

My 80 had one but I took it out to put tools and gear.

I've got a factory rear and brackets for my 73'. Probably wouldn't be cost effective to ship it from southern Cal though.

Mine has a aftermarket rear seat.I think it is made by Bestop.

My '83 CJ5 had the same back seat as my '84 CJ7 .

My 1981 CJ5 has the factory backseat, in fact I had the 2.5 yr old grand daughter in the back last night going through the back woods behind the house. She was squealing so loud my right ear started ringing. It was great...

My 76 CJ5 didn't have one but I bought one and as soon as get the brake issue fixed then the seat will be installed!!
