Street Jeep for snow and ice, still on blocks in the driveway. '73 CJ5, 258 inline six, T18 tranny, Model 20 transfer case, Dana 30/44 w/ 4.27 ratio (soon to be 3.73), original Cutlas hubs, half-cab waiting to be installed. Daily driver is a 20-year-old Mazda pickup.
My '73 (intermediate) CJ5 windshield is 59" wide. I picked up an old tin Meyers half-cab but it appears to be about 2 or 3 inches too narrow. An amused onlooker suggested the the cab might be for a CJ3.

Y'think?

If I was at home I could make some measurements for you...but...We are in Northern WI right now...Sorry - I know I could have answered this...:)

We'll be home on the 12th - but I'll bet you'll have your answer by then.

If you explore the CJ3b page there is a section on all the old tops with pictures and maybe dimensions...there are pics of the original sales blurbs - you might want to look there...

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, Lady! I do indeed have a cab for a CJ3. Info was under the A thread. Yup, the 3 windshield is narrower.

Also discovered that my Meyers-labeled cab isn't THE Meyers cab. Apparently a company named Meyers built full- and half-cabs for CJ6s and older rigs. Darn it--I was so convinced I had my tin pickup cab that I sold the Scrambler top I'd bought for the purpose of hacking and patching into a CJ5 lid. G-r-r-r-r-r.....

Hell, I'm right back to where I was two years ago.

Hmmmm....the rear (tub) dimensions are nearly identical. One jigsaw cut from windshield to rear drip rail, a few feet of tin, and a couple boxes of pop rivets might solve this problem. I've got some stovepipe around here somewhere that I can flatten out...

Yes, Sears Interstate, had one like #5 and it was like riding around in a tin can, should of insulated it for a better ride.
FYI Meyers have slanted door glass. Here is pic that was on this site earlier.
